New entrants to the security industry and those who are returning to it having previously worked prior to the introduction of SIA licensing in 2004, will need to undertake the SIA training to be able to apply for the SIA licence.
The length of the course is one week.
This qualification is worth 3 credits at Level 2
The course consists of following three units:
Unit 1: Working as a CCTV Operator within Privat Security Industry
Unit 2: Practical Operation of CCTV Equipment within the Private Security Industry
Unit 3: Working within Private Security Industry
To achieve this qualification, you must pass multi-choice exams for Unit 1 and 3 and an internally marked practical Unit 3 on operating CCTV equipment.
Through online using Google Meet, Google classroom and Zoom, Moodle Virtual Learning Environment and classroom
You will be assessed through three Multiple Choice examinations. Unit 1 and Unit 3 are 75 minutes examinations. Unit 2 is a pass practical assessment of the CCTV operation skills.
There are no formal entry requirements to the CCTV Operator course; however the minimum age requirement for entry into this course is 18 years. You will be asked to bring along Identification documents (Both parts of provisional or full UK driving license, passport) and proof of address (utility bill, bank statement etc) along with 1 passport size photograph.
