Why choose this course
This programme is for those who wish to take up further training and go into nursing, social work, residential care management etc. Those who wish to find employment immediately could work and train in care homes, hospitals, nursing homes and health centres.
The length of the course is between 12 to 24 weeks.
You will study a variety of units, consisting of:
(i) two mandatory units Human Lifespan Development and Health and Social Care Values plus
(ii) at least two optional units from the following:
Effective Communication in Health and Social Care
Social Influences on Health and Wellbeing
Promoting Health and Wellbeing
The Impact of Nutrition on Health and Wellbeing
Equality and Diversity in Health and Social Care
Individual Rights in Health and Social Care
To achieve this qualification, you must achieve a Level 2 pass, Level 2 merit, Level 2 distinction, Level 2 distinction*, and Level 1 grade.
Through online using Google Meet, Google classroom and Zoom, Moodle Virtual Learning Environment and classroom
You are required to possess a DBS check. There are no specific entry requirements; however, a basic level of numeracy and literacy are required. You need to demonstrate competency in both knowledge and skills, and therefore will ideally need to be either employed or volunteering for a minimum of 1 day a week in a real work environment.
The programme can lead to a range of jobs in the health and social care sector. You can progress onto level three programmes in health and social care.
